Missed connections: thank you mr record clerk

From Craigslist best-of:

Dear Hipster Record Store Clerk,

Thank you for judging me on the CD I bought yesterday. Our passive-aggressive altercation made me realize how conformist I am for buying an old Rage Against The Machine album. Your condescension was just the intellectual wake-up call I needed.

Rest of the post.

Boston and NYC fun!

In NYC for the next week after a fun 4 days in Boston to see friends and collaborators.  Was hot (70s) on Mon and Tues in boston, but has quickly cooled off to the gray skies I expect from New England winters.  Watched Sox whip up on Rockies with friends on Wed night.

Saw New Pornographers last night at Webster Hall. Hilarious moment in the encore when they invited Gordon Gano (Violent Femmes) up who looked, well kind of dorky esp next to AC Newman. The band sang the Femmes’ song “Held her in my arms.”  What is crazy is that for a lot of people in the audience, they were born after the Femmes had come and gone (although I am sure many would probably know “Blister in the Sun”).  Was much fun to go with Matt and Sara, although we did feel a little old at times, I am reminded again that live can be the best kind of music.
